A Call for a Just and Inclusive Bangladesh: Ensuring Rights for All

Dear Comrades,

For too long, we have witnessed the erosion of justice and equality in Bangladesh. We have seen extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, and the suppression of free speech. We have seen the rights of marginalized communities trampled upon. But we have also stood defiant, demanding a better future for all.

The time has come to build a Bangladesh free from discrimination, where every citizen enjoys equal rights and opportunities. To achieve this vision, we must prioritize the following:

Constitutional Recognition and Protection:

  • Recognize the distinct identities and rights of indigenous peoples by replacing the term " tribes, minor races, ethnic sects" with "indigenous nations" in the constitution.
  • Guarantee constitutional recognition, social protection, and security for gender-diverse communities.
  • Ensure constitutional protection and security for religious minorities.
  • Guarantee social protection for all marginalized groups, including Dalits, through constitutional provisions.

Demilitarization and Justice:

  • Withdraw military rule from the Chittagong Hill Tracts and ensure a peaceful and just resolution to the conflict.

Freedom and Security:

  • Repeal all oppressive laws, including the Digital Security Act, and guarantee freedom of expression for all.

Let us stand united in our demand for a Bangladesh where the rights of all are respected, and where justice and equality prevail. The path forward is clear: we must embrace inclusivity, reject discrimination, and build a society that truly represents the hopes and aspirations of all its people.
