Md. Shimonuzzaman, widely known as Shimon Rayhan, is a Supreme Court Lawyer specializing in International Labour Migration Law, Environmental Law, and Energy Law. He earned his LL.B. (Honours) and LL.M. degrees from the Faculty of Law, Islamic University, Kushtia, where he developed a strong academic foundation in legal theory and practice.
Shimon has extensive experience in legal research, project management, and policy advocacy. He served as Project Coordinator at the Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit (RMMRU), where he managed and implemented high-impact projects focused on migrant rights, climate-induced displacement, and migration governance. In this role, he worked closely with government agencies, international organizations, and civil society stakeholders to design and execute research, policy interventions, and advocacy strategies.
Admitted to the Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association in 2023, Shimon actively practices law, representing clients in matters related to labour migration compliance, environmental protection, and energy sector regulation. His professional approach combines rigorous legal analysis with a commitment to advancing justice, sustainability, and human rights.
